NU living charity event raises £13,000 for the Swan Foundation

The Swan Foundation is celebrating after NU living, a Swan Group business, raised over £13,000 for it at a charity dinner held at Greenwoods Hotel and Spa in Essex. The event was attended by Swan’s suppliers and contractors, many of whom donated items which were auctioned off in aid of the charity.

The Swan Foundation works with communities, who live in or close to homes built, managed and supported by Swan Housing throughout East London and Essex. They work to help remove obstacles that are holding people back, maximising employability and opening up further opportunities to benefit local people. Other key areas of their work include health, well-being and sports.

Geoff Pearce, Executive Director of Development and Regeneration hosted the dinner and led the main fundraising event of the evening, a charity auction. Auction prizes included a helicopter tour of London; exclusive tickets to see Muse at the O2 and a pair of tickets for a pair of club Wembley tickets to watch Saracens vs Harlequins as part of the Aviva Premiership.

Geoff commented: “It was a wonderful evening and we would like to thank all of our suppliers and contractors for their generosity in helping us to raise such a large amount of money for the Swan Foundation. The money raised will help fund worthwhile projects such as a Construction Trade School (CTS) for young people who are disengaged with education. We know that CTS changes lives, in the last cohort of the sixteen young people who took part, fourteen of these remain in education having made the choice to move on to college.”
