Mark Francois, MP for Wickford and Rayleigh visits our modular factory in Basildon.

We were delighted to welcome Mark Francois, MP for Rayleigh and Wickford to its modular factory in Basildon today. Mark was greeted by Swan’s Executive Director of Regeneration and Development, Geoff Pearce, as well as the Managing Director of the Factory, Paul Williamson.

On arrival, Mark was given a short presentation not only on Swan’s approach to precision engineered homes but also the potential for growth and the clear demand from local authority and other HA partners. Following this, Mark was taken on a tour of the factory, where he was clearly impressed by the scale of Swan’s operation, as well as its approach to delivering more homes, more quickly. Finally, the group visited the show homes and Marketing Suite at Swan’s Beechwood development, where the team demonstrated their unique configurator, which gives buyers the opportunity to customise their new home, much as you might build a new car.

Mark Francois, MP for Wickford and Rayleigh commented:

“I had a really enjoyable and informative visit this morning, where I have seen a highly advanced factory for building homes for the 21st century. It’s great to see innovative methods like this being used to provide homes for people across South Essex.”

Geoff Pearce, Swan’s Executive Director of Regeneration and Development said:

“At Beechwood, working with our partners, we are committed to delivering modern, high-quality homes that people want to live in, as well as creating a sustainable, mixed tenure community. Swan is an innovative organisation and we are using offsite manufacturing to not only to deliver high-quality regeneration but also to give buyers the opportunity to customise their own home. This approach sets schemes like Beechwood apart, pushing the bar higher whilst delivering better quality homes for residents. I am convinced that offsite will enable us to deliver more high-quality homes, more quickly, to help meet the growing demand and it’s great to have the support of local politicians like Mark Francois MP.”
