Completion of First 14 New Homes at Laindon Place

Swan Housing Association has completed the first 14 new homes in the long awaited Laindon Place regeneration scheme. Known as the Landmark, the beautiful two and four-bedroom houses are situated within a cul-de-sac setting that overlooks the main regeneration site.

Swan’s Laindon Place regeneration replaces the Laindon Shopping Centre which Swan purchased in 2015 and demolished in 2019 to make way for the new high street. When complete, Laindon Place will be a great place to work, live and shop; it will provide a new regional office for Swan, a variety of retail units, 224 new homes, a new and expanded health centre as well as improved landscaping around Laindon’s historic war memorial.

Ms. B, one of the first people to move into one of the new homes, which were built by Swan’s in house contractor NU living, said:”Buying a new house during the Covid-19 pandemic was really stressful but it was worth it and I am really happy with my new home. The location is perfect for me and we have the most incredible view of the area”.

Geoff Pearce, Deputy Chief Executive, Swan Housing Association said:”This is a huge milestone for the transformation of Laindon Town Centre. The handover of 14 new homes marks the completion of the first phase of ourambitious regeneration.  We’ve listened to the local community and worked in partnership with Basildon Borough Council and as a result when Laindon Place is complete, we know that the area will be transformed into the haven for living, socialising, shopping, and working that the community wanted. We welcome the first new residents to their NU homes.”
